Photoshop Practise

Before beginning to edit our final print productions we were required to create some practise productions; this exercise enabled me to explore and investigate the various tools and processes available for use on the editing software.

Previous to this task I had a limited knowledge of the programme Adobe Photoshop CS4, knowing basic adjustments such as changing the contrast, brightness and colour grade. Throughout the making of these productions I was able to learn how to use many useful tools and processes that I may require when producing my own print production, in particular;
  • the magnetic lasso tool which allows you to select a specific part of an image and place it onto a different background/layer
  • the magic wand tool which allows you to select and apply an identical colour to one already existing/applied to the image
  • and the transparency tool which controls the density of an image or text (you are able to create shadows and fading of the subject).

  1. Well done Elle and your evaluation of your work appropriately explains how you used specific tools to achieve the finish required.
